Accessibility & Adaptive Roles

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn life-saving techniques. If you are unable to physically perform the skills portion of a course, you may still participate in the cognitive (knowledge) portion, under instructor guidance. In certain cases, where permitted by AHA policy, we may offer an Advisor role, where you verbalize or guide another person to perform the actions. For courses like BLS, the American Heart Association’s Advisor: BLS program explicitly supports this accommodation for participants with physical disabilities.
Please contact us ahead of registration so we can confirm whether the accommodation is allowed for your specific class and make any necessary arrangements.
